Recipe: Overnight Slow-Cooked Oatmeal

Thanks to the generosity of Whole Foods, who gifted us all of the ingredients in this recipe, we enjoyed prepping a make-ahead breakfast for a new family, and leaving it overnight for them to enjoy the next morning! The leftovers are great too- stick them in the fridge and reheat in the microwave the next day!

  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 1 cup dried cherries, raisins, or chopped apples
  • 1 TSP vanilla
  • 1 TSP cinnamon

For a little more sweet you can add one or both of the following:

  • 1 cup applesauce (optional)
  • 3 TBS brown sugar (optional) or 1/2 cup maple syrup
Crock pot oatmeal overnight

Combine all of the ingredients in your slow cooker, and cook on low overnight for about 8 hours! Sprinkle on some dried coconut flakes, chopped nuts, or a drizzle of honey as well if you would like.
