Postpartum Self-Care Tips for New Moms: Part 1

As an expecting mom, it is sometimes easy to be so focused on the upcoming birth, that you forget to plan for what happens after. Of course, there is a baby shower to look forward to, where many of the must-haves for life with a new baby will be taken care of by your generous friends and family. Things like the stroller, diaper bag, and more cute onesies than you can even imagine!

But what about you? What can you do to make sure that you are taken care of, and that you get off to a good start healing from the physical demands of pregnancy and birth. As your doulas, we will talk with you about the postpartum time, and some things that you might think about in preparation for the big day when you will finally meet that beautiful new baby, and begin to transition to a new life, plus one.

We will give you ideas about what to pack in your hospital bag to make your birth experience more comfortable, and we will also ask you about your plans for taking care of yourself and your family after the birth. We will also encourage you to think about ways that you can nurture and care for yourself, which is so important, but sometimes difficult, for new moms.
